SNMP MIB Monitoring in WatchMyDC®

Introduction

WatchMyDC® supports custom SNMP MIB Monitoring for endpoints through OID. This document demonstrates the process of adding an SNMP OID from a MIB for observability and alerting.

Dependency and Limitations

  1. The WatchMyDC® Collector is imported and registered to the WatchMyDC® Dashboard
  2. The WatchMyDC® MIB repository contains MIBs’ from most of the manufacturers. However, in the case of a MIB is not present in the list, please contact WatchMyDC® support with the vendor & MIB name. (WatchMyDC® is working to import their own MIBs’ soon.)
  3. Line Chart’ and ‘Text/Num‘ card support a single OID only.
  4. It takes 4-5 minutes to display the value or graph after adding the custom metric.
  5. WatchMyDC® does not support custom metrics for WMI nodes.
